Cycling dream May 30 - montage of Americans
Dreamt that I took part in Tim Duggan’s grass-roots soigneur ground crew in his winning US Road Championship ride on Monday.
Then was shootin’ the breeze (briefly) with Tom Danielson.
Dave Zabriskie was sacrificing a steer with his kids. (This was clearly influenced by the jokes going around Twitter about JV sacrificing goats for Ryder’s Giro win.)...

I dreamt I was at the Olympic road race and I was following Cav around wearing his World Champs jersey because he was wearing Team GB kit. I had to follow him around the race too.

Flanders, but not really Flanders
Scene: breakfast cafe set up on the Mur, which was near Niagara Falls; Mom, Dad, sister, & I were waiting for the mini-train to Disneyland proper, and there was a bit of a queue.
Mom & sis were unimpressed that we were breakfasting on a hallowed place in cycling lore.
Behind our table was a handwritten ‘Tom Boonen was here’ in cheap imitation Delft...

Dreams about twitter = a new low.
I dream that I was reading twitter (yes yes…) and was busy having a discussion about Frank Schleck being a total scamp for heading to Britain to see little bro Andy instead of waiting in Luxembourg for Martine and daughter Leea to return home from Italy. Apparently Andy was training in Britain. Naturally.
Then there was something to do with Benat Intxausti but...

I dreamt that IB outsprinted Abdoujaparov on the Promenade in Nice - can’t remember what Abdou looks like! Abdou was in green (obviously), it was sunny, crash barriers all the way up the road. Joanna Lumley cheering at the red kite, smoking. I can’t remember any other riders specifically but they were there. Sadly no close-ups of Fabs or Tommeke, just IB and DA. Now I’m thinking...

Stuey O’Grady was taken ill right in front of me at a race. David Millar dropped out to care for him (bet Vaughters was delighted). Later, at a different part of the race, I noticed both their riderless bikes continuing on in the peloton! Just like when racehorses carry on after unseating a jockey.
