I’d have wished for something more exciting…

One of those dreams that put me back in my hometown which for some reason was hosting the start of a cycle race. Said town had bought and installed plastic trees to line the main road in order for it to “feel more like a race”. The trees were akin to those model ones you get for dioramas and models and thus the tree-lined boulevard attempt was greatly lacking.

I saw Thomas Voeckler and Sylvain Chavanel who were both riding for Europcar. They were smiling a lot which a man told me was because they were being paid huge fees by some company in India “so why wouldn’t they be happy?”. Sylvain was still the French national champion in this scenario.

I couldn’t remember the name of the race even though I was there and was upset because I’d forgotten to bring my camera.  Then it started to rain.
