I was seeing Nicolas Anelka, who I never considered very attractive, but in the dream he was very nice to me, so there’s that. We were seated in my grandparents’ living room. I’m not sure who ‘we’ were, there were lots of people there (but not Anelka), and we weren’t cyclists, nor footballers or journalists. I think maybe we were working for Bjarne Riis, who had gathered us to tell us that he was taking on the job as head coach at Chelsea. While Bjarne went up to my grandparents’ attic (their house doesn’t have an attic, but Bjarne was not aware of this) to find a Chelsea kit he could wear on his first day, I was outside trying to convince Anelka that I didn’t know that Riis was going to be his new boss, and that I texted him as soon as I found out, even though Bjarne asked us not to.
Then, one of my real life coworkers walked up to us and asked if we had heard the news: Orica would no longer be sponsoring the Cofidis team. This was very important and very unexpected news, and we were all shocked.
